Imashevskoe Deposit Project

One of the promising areas of work of the KazRosGas company is the implementation of a joint project for geological study and exploration of the Imashevskoye transboundary gas condensate field, which is located in the Astrakhan region of Russia and the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan. According to preliminary estimates, the recoverable reserves of the field are estimated at more than 128 billion cubic meters of gas and 20 million tons of gas condensate. Negotiations on joint work at the Imashevskoye field were conducted since 2007 and were completed in September 2010 in Ust-Kamenogorsk with the signing of the Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on joint activities for geological study and exploration of this field. The sole operator for the implementation of the project for geological study and exploration of the Imashevskoye field was determined to be KazRosGaz LLP.

The Intergovernmental Agreement provides for the geological study and exploration of the Imashevskoye field with the calculation of hydrocarbon reserves and technical and economic assessment of the field development, on the terms of equal financing of expenses between the authorized organizations of the parties - JSC NC KazMunayGas and OAO Gazprom. Based on the results of the approvals of the authorized organizations of the parties, it is planned to work out issues related to obtaining the right to subsoil use and the preparation of the Program for geological study and exploration of the field.

The implementation of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia on joint activities for the geological study and exploration of this transboundary deposit will contribute to the further development of bilateral cooperation between the countries in the oil and gas industry, the growth of economic potential and the improvement of the well-being of the peoples of the two states.
